Inspired to create this thread by their recent "Hacksaw Ridge" reenactment at Gore. And rumors of trail cutting in glades.

As someone who has only skied Gore twice, I find these recent updates unsettling and disillusioning. Hopefully one of the govt. pensioner big-shots reads this.

ORDA just released pricing for 2020-2021 season passes for Mt van Hoevenberg. Early bird pricing is $325.00, up a cool 80% from last year. More than Royal Gorge in CA, more than Prospect. No season pass for me this year. Adult single day passes are 55% more expensive.

That's a big jump.

I didn't see day ticket prices, but I got to believe you could make that pay off. How many days a year do you get at Van Ho Peter?

Didnt they just announce or build a super dooper lodge there? That probably nobody wanted except the builders and the politicians who lunch with builders?

Harv, a day trail pass will be $32, up from $20. When season passes were $180, I could barely make it work. $325 is untenable unless I'm a lot closer.

Benny, yeah, they've just built a lodge. And it was necessary. The existing lodge was originally intended to be a temporary structure. All the improvements there have been in the Unit Management Plan since ~1986.

Of course costs of business increase, and they get passed on to the consumer. I get that. But an 80% price increase? Could your business impose an 80% price increase and no one would be upset?

It's country club like cross country skiing. If that were my thing I would be pretty stoked. For 225 you have access to a very expensive set up.
