ORDA Snowmaking Improvements

There are other companies in addition to these 2 who would do a better job than ORDA has done at Gore.

So the choices are 210,000 visits at Gore or 600,000 visits like Mt Snow/Stratton/Okemo? How about a small increase to 260,000 visits? Gore has doubled in size in the last 2 decades and is still doing the same visits. How come this waste of taxpayer money does not bother you?

Please spare us the "I paid taxes" argument - we all have paid taxes and ORDA contiunues to do a crap job at Gore.

Again - read the ORDA legislative mandate. Here is #1
"Institute a comprehensive, coordinated program of activities utilizing the Olympic facilities, Gore Mountain, and Belleayre Mountain, in and around Lake Placid, North Creek, and Highmount, New York, in order to ensure optimum year-round use and enjoyment of these facilities to the economic and social benefit of the regions and to minimize the financial burden on state and local government by maximizing revenue opportunities."

I bolded what ORDA fails to do at Gore.
Don't you live in Jersey and ski at flatton? You have an ax to grind with lake placid, what's that all about?

The ORDA Board which is heavily weighted to LP has some say. The 1 board member representing Gore has no say.
A couple of the women on the board have been somewhat "speaking up" at meetings.
One of em even voted nay to the new mission statement at the last meeting.

When a fat 3ft dump hits all three mountains and they open 100% of their terrain, I hope ORDA blocks all of the passes of all the bitches who have been bitching. We need snow from heaven not from hoses.

Are you drunk?

What would you expect orda to do in North Creek?
If you feel like it, read this 2005 Economic Study for Gore. The main stuff is only about 12 pages.

This is the economic study that NYS Gov Pataki used to justify the Ski Bowl connection. They were using Sugarbush as a model. At the time (2001-2002), Sugarbush had 306,000 visits and Gore had 173,350 (Mt Snow is shown with 472,000 visits). Gore had an increase the following season (2002-2003) to 213,928. This is all prior to the huge expansion. Increasing visits at Gore would financially help the North Creek area. The visits never increased and by extension the North Creek area has suffered.

As we see by the NYSB visit chart, despite the huge expansion, ORDA has never figured a way to increase the visits at Gore. This is a complete fail in light of the massive expansion of lifts, snowmaking and terrain at Gore.

Nobody at ORDA has ever been held responsible for the failure at Gore. NYS did not spend money over the last 20 plus years to maintain the status quo for visits since 2002.

You have to count Burnt Ridge and the Ski Bowl or you're fudging the numbers.
I was wondering what percentage of Gore would be open if they followed your rule and never built those pods.
