No, never do. I'll be shooting deer!!!!

Camp, I consider you to be like an unofficial caretaker around here. It's always a little different when you are hunting.

Have a great time, I know you love it.

Thanks bud. I'll be heading to camp on Friday for my yearly "reset". Other than the usual shenanigans, hunting, etc the best part is zero contact with the outside world. I think everyone should take a week out of their life and spend it with lifelong friends with zero internet, phones, tv, power, etc. It would be nice to have a shower but you get used to the stench after day 3....lol

I expect to ski this year, but I don't expect to ski as much as I usually do. Have plans for New Years and that's it.

Only time I've ever skied on an Opening Day was last November. Bryce (2 hours west of Washington DC) opened on Sat, Nov. 16 just for the fun of it. I was staying at Massanutten for a long weekend in order to meet up with skiing friends and to check out a ski swap at a DC ski shop. Found a pair of skis for my NC friend's son who is an advance skier and a growing teen.

The double to mid-mountain was for skiers that weekend. Bryce is a small well-run hill that is essentially an amenity for owners of second homes who are mostly from DC. There is a golf course too. Bryce has been around for 50+ years. The one route down took no more than a minute to finish. The quad to the summit was open for mountain biking. Towards the top of the double I could watch the bikers head down in the woods between ski trails. I used the Indy Pass since I knew I wouldn't get to Bryce more than 2 days. A lift ticket was $25 that day.

Met up with a DC friend at Bryce in late Feb. We had a blast. I'd convinced him to get Indy for spring skiing. He used it at Bryce and Massanutten. Had never been to either before and enjoyed both a lot. He grew up skiing in Utah and had never considered skiing locally before.

No. I’m working up at Zion. Last hitch for the year!

the last few years they have opened with midway down bowl side. It’s basically a green run so I haven’t made it up for opening day in a good while. It’s not worth it imho, not with the crowd at least.

we just drove up over wolf creek pass yesterday and it actually looked pretty good up top. We unfortunately didn’t pack for skiing.

I would be eager to ski on opening day or near opening day this year except I am recovering from a broken shoulder and I’m not sure I can pull my boots on in the car! In the lodge I could get a hand from my husband but it could be pretty awkward trying to get assistance in the wheel well of the car. I might wait until I can pull my own boots on.
