I was really torn on this one.
IMO: Of course Mt Van Ho should be subject to the same rules as Gore, WF, Belle. It just makes sense. And arguably nordic has less impact per acre than lift served.
And I want Van Ho to be awesome. I'm a nordic skier myself.
But it just felt to me that — rewriting rules so that a state agency could be in compliance with the state constitution — isn't right. There seem to be no consequences for years of blatant disregard for the law. And as Rip said, we'd all get our butts kicked if we did it.
In 100 years it won't matter. Hell next year it won't matter.
So I guess I'm ok that Prop 1 won, even though I voted against it.
On the upside Zelda didn't know about Prop 1, she read the two sentences on the ballot and voted for it. Can't blame her.
Warren County went for it big too. That surprised me a bit.
