November catches ORDA by surprise again.

Me too. In their defense, it's only about fifth pass I've tried to order on-line.

I had to shift over to my business email handle to order mine and that worked. For some reason the on-line ordering system barked at my personal email address I've been using for years.

Meanwhile, I've given up trying to buy a van Ho season pass online because of shopping cart issues. Keep getting a message "something went wrong please try again." I called the IT help desk person, and they're like, maybe you should download a new browser. Ended up purchasing my pass over the phone.
That’s the only way to do it. Bought my gore pass by phone and I kept my sanity.

I would have thought that for most years the high peaks chair didn’t spin until January anyway.
I was going to ask when are the average dates these chairs actually open by? Why should they have them ready to go on opening day if there’s no intention to have them in use then? I don’t know but it doesn’t seem like something getting worked up over.

In other news our new chondola opened today. I might go check it out tomorrow. I guess they aren’t loading the gondola cabins yet.

In my experience if the Dark Side opens by MLK that's pretty good, compared to average.

Our new lift wasn’t ready for opening day. I didn’t care, I’m just excited for a new lift and I know the staff is doing the best job they can.

it was real warm here today. Like October warm. A small system moves through starting tomorrow I guess. It’s not enough to do much and then it warms up next week again. I can’t say I care about that much either. Why bother ? and besides.......Sedona has been killer lately!

It's not about when the lifts open on average, it's more about the earliest opening. Some years December is the best skiing of the year. Even if lift 6 isn't needed, construction will keep all of Cloud, Open Pit and Lies closed until the comm lines are in, which is possibly weeks away. The other two new lifts are beginner lifts that really should have been available opening day.

If you think ORDA is doing the best job it can, listen to the November 20 board meeting beginning at 5:15.
They have 3 lifts behind schedule, and the report is "coming along nicely." No suggestion that anything is behind schedule, no mention of any problems, and worst of all, no questions from any board members. They are not doing the best they can do, unless you think that means ignoring problems. ORDA has a lobg history of unfinished projects, and it's clear that they don't care.
