Hometown USA: Glens Falls, NY

I hear Washington County taxes are pretty high compared to neighboring Counties
I’m in a top ten in the country county now so it’s probably better then that but I get the point. Truth is when it’s time to move, it’ll more likely be out of state then returning to upstate but I can dream

yeah, that’s a great spot. I think I might like to be over towards Whitehall or Fort Anne also if I had a choice where to live, someplace out in the woods with no neighbors
Bluk tell me you jest.

I don’t know. By the time I’m ready to move,I may be so tired of being around people, I just go back to AK. Mrs Brownski might have something to say I guess but she currently wants to move to Tenn.

It funny, whenever you read these clickbaity articles about best places to retire it's always about taxes.

I ain't livin in Florida to save a nickel on taxes.

Great thread.

I moved back home to the Hudson Valley after living in Southwest Montana and I don’t regret it. I found it hard to do the things I moved there for while working and there seemed to be a low pay plateau. Here there is way more opportunity and I can take time off with more money and go back to enjoy it with more playtime. The same stoke out there is alive and well in the North Country. I visit friends often in Keene and it’s like a mini Montana. The people are way cool and the mountains are wild. Wherever you find yourself that’s where you’ll be.
