Greek Peak Conditions

Love hate with Visions lift, no doubt it’s the lift I feel safest on. But when it’s busy it stops way way to often. Not really sure as of why? Is it loading? Or up top? If it’s up top maybe I few loads of fill in front would make coming off easier for rookies. The ramp is fairly steep, at least steeper than it should be for rookies.

Skied last night, the ramp was still not working, stopped a couple times and they slowed it often , I assume to load kids.

Conditions were as good as you can expect. Getting to Castor may be a problem after this rain. Was very thin last night both ways to get to it. The terrain park looked impressive on Pollux, people put some time in making it nice. Would be nice to see a tow rope for that park, it might get more use.

Was skiing and teaching yesterday afternoon. It was a beautiful day and ski conditions were as good as I think we are going to have this year. And even though the cover was thin, it was possible to do some glade skiing. I expect today's warm temps and rain is going to kill all skiing on non-snowmaking terrain, including Marathon and Epicurus. So all the snow they made on Castor and Pollux is going to be impossible to access without an operating Chair 2. (sigh)

The sign at the bottom of visions says the ramp is going to be replaced the week of Feb 13...... We shall see....!

The double rope tows at Hyland Park gets used, especially when the kids are out of school.
No need to screw around with the dang boarder binding either.

There have been discussions about things like that. A lift on Meadow for beginners. Tows for terrain parks. Another lift on the east slope. All would be nice but are lower priority than improving snow making and lift reliability.

Row tows are cheaper, simpler and more reliable than lifts. I’ve yet to see a “liftie” on those tows and the one on the left gets packed.
Evacuation of a rope tow doesn’t exist either.

We thank you, it has been a team effort. We have been designing the terrain park this year. The Snowmakers did an amazing job and Matt Brown as Groomer Operator. We co hosted a USASA National Qualifiers for SlopeStyle in Middle and a Rail Jam Lower Pollux last weekend. Everyone had a great event and our athletes and coach’s had some awesome results. We have proposed a rope tow and it is definitely in consideration for next session!
