Greek Peak Conditions

They should not open chair 4 without a viable path to get there besides the bunny slope
Think about what you say. I’ll take 3 to get to 4 anytime especially if you can get to 5. Think that’s what they keyed on doing this year. I’m totally ok with that, truth be told I didn’t even expect 5 to turn this season with as much snow we’ve had so far.
( thanks Greek) Like I said above when we have snow like last weekend I was able to scoot through woods below the connector. Even when I couldn’t I’d go through terrain park to get to 3, not a big deal other than it being slow. I have tunes wired in my helmet and generally have at least 1 or 2 beers in my coat.

On another note ever try and get a beer in the pub??? Can’t get near the bar on weekends. You’ll spend more time trying to getting a beer then riding 3 and 4 time wise. Now there’s a gripe I can get behind. BYOB has been my fix.

They should not open chair 4 without a viable path to get there besides the bunny slope. I wonder about the "increased" snowmaking capacity, all I've seen is guns spread out all over the place but not enough concentration to cover any trail any faster. Have you noticed the one fan gun sitting in the middle of Christies all by its lonesome for the last month(?). Has it been turned on? I give them credit for all these capital improvements but all I want is simple logical resource management. I understand the lifts and snowmaking are old and can live with that. Being treated like a second class citizen is harder to shallow. I'm thinking the Epic pass for next year but I can only do weekends but spending every weekend in a hotel is not very appealing. I just hope someone wakes up at Greek and fixes things.
I'm guessing you haven't been around long enough to truly appreciate all the massive snowmaking improvements. My understanding is they now can cover the equivalent of 16 football fields with a foot of snow in 24hrs. Obviously that's under ideal conditions.
Just because you don't like how to get to 4 without riding 3 doesn't mean others don't mind it. It definitely would suck on a board, but it's not all about you.
It hasn't even snowed this year, and I'm impressed with what trails they've had open on a consistent basis.
If it would snow they could open 2, that would fix all your issues. Think snow!

I skied here in the 90s and recall better line management. Lab had a better park so I went there for a few years. Were you here last Saturday when the line went single file up the hill on chair 4? All I am saying is better organization and customer awareness fixes a lot of problems. Although, I like the BYOB solution too. Lab has fallen apart since it merged with Song, so this is the best place in CNY, it can be better with a little more thought and planning.
OK, well, now your on to a different issue than your original, "I can't get to chair 4 without riding 3".

I was sent a pic of the cluster fuck liftlines. No way would I EVER wait in that. I really don't have a clue as to why that issue can't be fixed. Obviously they don't want that issue, but it's there. Only thing I can think of is staffing issues.

BTW, how's the park been this year? I know my pals from CNYFreeride have been busting their balls on it this year. Have you noticed improvements??? I'm about the farthest thing from a park rat as you can imagine, so I'd like to hear it from someone who enjoys riding them.

Agree, if they just put someone at gates making sure lifts are full would help.
As far as 4 and the line that’s a tough one, again bad snow year. There’s not enough snow to have line like they did last year when it got busy, around other side and around. I thought the same this weekend till I assessed the situation. Kinda have to play the cards delt. I just went to front and waited till I seen a single and joined them.

We decided to pass on Greek Peak this year, but just decided to hop on the blog to see what is occurring. I'm pretty impressed with the improvements they made this year. They undertook quite a few projects. Hopefully, the new upgrades to their snowmaking is proving productive during this challenging year.

We went all in with Ikon and Epic passes, so have been here there and everywhere. The one thing we noticed is that staffing has improved immensely. I guess the $20 an hour starting salary that the Epic resorts are paying is working. We even noticed the General Manager of Okemo working the single and ski school lines one day for about five hours straight so that he could chat with the public. That was impressive.

Snuck out this afternoon and ran up. Conditions pretty good, beautiful day. Blue bird with lake affect blowing in often. Guns blowing in typical spots, Castor judging by the clouds will be opening soon.
Since last night and today I’d say “legit” 2” up top has fallen maybe more
