Gore Mountain Conditions

I skied open to close, mostly avoiding the main base and sticking to the outer areas. Run count as follows:

Gondola - Ruby, Showcase
Gondola - Topridge
Topridge - Uncas, Lower Uncas, Tannery
Topridge - Pine Knot
Topridge - Topridge
Topridge - Uncas
Topridge - Ruby, The Loop, Pete Gay
North - Sleeping Bear
North - The Loop, Pete Gay
North - Tahawus
North - Wood In (after lunch @ saddle)
High Peaks - Cloud, Hullabaloo
High Peaks - Cloud, Lower Darby
High Peaks - Upper Steilhang, Santanoni
High Peaks - Cloud, Little Cloud
High Peaks - Lies
Straightbrook - Chatiemac
Straightbrook - Hawkeye
Straightbrook - Open Pit
Straightbrook - Headwaters
Straightbrook - Cloud, Lower Cloud, Tahawus, Pipeline, Peaceful Valley
Hudson - 46er
Hudson - Moxham
Hudson - Oak Ridge
Hudson - Peaceful Valley, Eagle's Nest
Burnt Ridge - Sagamore
Burnt Ridge - Echo
Burnt Ridge - Backwoods
Burnt Ridge - Sagamore
Burnt Ridge - Backwoods
Burnt Ridge - Echo
AE2 - Quicksilver
AE2 - Lower Sunway

Despite it being very crowded with cars parked all the way down the access road, it didn't feel crowded away from the main base and the morning on Straightbrook, which is why I waited until after lunch to go there.

Other than the usual Gore problems of inefficient lift operations and inaccurate snow reporting, it was one of my best days this season.

Wow, that's a full day. Great pics. The traffic did us in and sat on the access road for a while at 8:30, didn't get on the hill until almost 9:30. I agree, mountain didn't feel as crowded as other days despite actually having lines on every lift. I just kept telling myself, imagine what it is like at Stratton!

I've never seen people parking so far down the access road they were pretty much on Peaceful Valley. That's a hell of a walk.

I'm not sure why they never plowed Lot H. This was one of the rare days they could have used it. Hopefully they had enough shuttle buses, because that's a crazy long walk. Bottom of the access road to the main base is also a 500 vertical climb.

Sunrise Sunday at the tippy top.

Curious about yer route.
Looks like Gondi to:
Topridge to North to HP to SB to Hudson to BR to Bear.
Was yer route based on sno conditions, lift(whatever), what the sun does or other things?

Most of yer runs were on BR.
Anything special regarding trail conditions as ya proceeded?
What’d ya like the best on one of yer best days and/or was it best cause ya could go to all the trails/pods ya skied? I doubt ya snowboarded but may have.

The conditions should hold for a few days.
After all, Twas The Dayaftergroundhogday...

Welp getting gored this morning. Put in at the bowl after checking the report at 8:15 and here we are at 8:50 and BR is on hold with no time estimate. Would have been nice to know this before like 8 to plan accordingly to go to the base.....
I'd also like to point out that the report shows the hold for BR being posted at 8 AM. I checked it at 8:15. It wasn't there. I call BS

So much for the ya gotta go to know.
Ya went and still were informed incorrectly & somebody time traveled.
That’s worse IMO.
Somebody should give ya a perk for pointing it out so they can fix the BS.

Just making me think about what it would be like to hike back to the AE2… I was a little surprised to see that I had skated almost a full mile from AE2 to BR at the beginning of my day last week. Can’t remember which one of you fine folks likes to (correctly) point out that Gore very well may have the greatest horizontal in the East, but I’ve started to adopt it when sharing chairs with other skiers/riders. Usually gets a chuckle.
