Gore Mountain Conditions

Never made it to Burnt Ridge but twister had way more snow than showcase did yesterday and it’s further north.
Would’ve been even funner if I still had gas left in the tank coming down it at the end at 2.
After scoping it out on the AE2, for some reason my skis didn’t point in the direction of Showcase when given the chance… (all before Noon) Twister was great, Backwoods was quite nice, Echo was fun, Hawkeye/Chatiemac were superb. It’s funny, many trails skied better than the last time I was here mid-Feb.

Yup. It was like a great winter day with Labor.Day-like sun after the early clouds left.
We hid from the wind on the rides up as AE2 was windy at the top. Stayed on High Peaks and North.
It was easy fun ⛷️ to scoot around.
Looking back shoulda went to twister after the wind died down a bit but we don’t leave fish to find fish.
Around noon it felt like the seats were heated which was a nice touch.
Might go up again Monday as there’s lots of snow still.

I couldn't believe how well everything skied right up until last chair. Echo was my run of the day. Rumor and Lies opened late morning and were great. Morning was like mid winter conditions at points and afternoon was nice and soft everywhere. Sad that this is the last weekend for Burnt, the bottom of Sagamore had a lot of dirt patches to avoid but rest of the trail was excellent.

Is this some of the most open terrain Gore has had for this late in the season?

In my experience yes it is

It sure helps spread the folks out. Not crowded at all yesterday,
Top of the lifts had more folks standing around than at the bottom of ‘em.
It was ski on all day. 9-2.

Echoing everyone else stellar day. Warm enough to soften everything but not too warm to turn to slush except lower mountain end of the day. As usual Rumor was my ROTD with great corn and bumps. Everything skiied great though.

Killington tomorrow for more stellar skiing.

Awesome spring day today. Almost everything fully softened up into perfect corn snow. I started with the front side, then went to Burnt Ridge, having lunch after that. After lunch, I took some laps on Topridge, then went to the summit, working my way through all the main trails. After that, I took Topridge up, then down Ruby and Tahawus, which was surprisingly good and worth a repeat. After that was 2 more runs on the front side to end the day.

Unfortunately it appears that today was the last day for Burnt Ridge, which is really disappointing because the skiing there was just so good. While Sagmore wasn't open when I was down there, Echo and Backwoods were phenomenal.

If Gore pushes the season like they did last year, then I think the three lifts will be the Adirondack Express, North Quad, and High Peaks, as trails off of them had the deepest and most consistent coverage.
