Global Weirding

You mow higher to keep the pesticide down and water less necessary.
The longer the grass, the deeper the root. I keep mine cut high for better drought resistance…..which I guess is getting more impotent!

Worst thing I ever did to the lawn was fertilize it once.
Way too much grass grew..
Never again.

Does anyone fond it ironic people are clicking away ( using energy ) to lament global warming ?

I watched the first Planet of the Apes movie on Youtube last night and at the end Charlton Hestons ending scene quote . " Damn you , you blew it up" . In a later movie he blows up the Planet LOL . A little levity

Haha! And I was worried this thread might turn ugly and political! Ha!

This is what makes NYSkiBlog so rad!

That being said….we are totally fucked. Enjoy it while we got it!

I’ve been multi tasking watching the largest attended spectator sport show on earth.
Phoenix (waste management) Open.
Let’s go Brookski.

Unless you're charging the batteries with renewable electric you're just moving the exhaust pipe to the power plant.
The power plants generate power much cleaner than small ICEs. In most places you can opt to get electricity from renewable power.
Mowing high doesn't really allow you to mow less, it still needs to be cut one a week.
Mowing high is done for drought tolerance. I wasn’t implying that it allows you to mow less. Mowing should be done as needed not once a week.
Water in the north east is plentiful, most golf courses irrigate with their own retention ponds or well water
Water is plentiful in the NE but it’s also a finite resource. In our town our aquifer is in trouble and there are laws being enacted to try and save it. The wells golf courses use rob clean water and pollute it. Those ponds are toxic waste dumps that are needed for containment.
A golf course definitely has less environmental impact than retail, commercial office, housing development or virtually anything else beside forever wild.
There is lots of net zero development, so, no.
Golf courses are thriving with wildlife and the ponds are stocked with fish.
Wildlife gravitate to golf courses because of the open space. It doesn’t mean they thrive there. I hope you don’t eat those bass.
Heavy chemical use is pretty much a thing of the past and what is used is heavily regulated.
Heavy chemical use is definitely not a thing of the past. Cigarettes are regulated too.

What specifically is the problem with the aquifer?
Is it related to cesspools at NY State Parks?
