Global Weirding

Thanks for posting this info @raisingarizona. Fascinating and depressing at the same time. I have little faith that anything of substance will be done to address the root cause even if it's possible. Society will just manage crisis after crisis while in a death spiral. When I read articles like this I'm reminded of how fortunate we are to live in the fresh water rich region around the Great lakes and Finger Lakes.

Really?? The energy used to get to resorts and the energy resorts use your get people up the mountains is massive. Anyone truly concerned with global warming would quit resort skiing yesterday
There is no doubt that ski operations generate greenhouse gases. But where did you get the data to say it's "massive?" Massive compared to what?

Resort skiing is an energy-intensive operation, relying on fossil fuels, producing greenhouse gases, and contributing to global warming. Ski lifts usually run on electricity, and operating a single ski lift for a month requires about the same energy needed to power 3.8 households for a year.

The information is a click away. Your can bury your head in the sand but come on.

I feel the same. Ive been working around Phoenix a lot lately and I’ve really been enjoying the December/January weather and food that the city offers but no one that lives there’s seems to even know about the water crisis we are about to experience. That’s a little disheartening to say the least.

That's a pretty big reach. I don't want to bury my head in the sand, but you said massive and I'm genuinely interested. Massive compared to what? Golf courses, amusement parks, Fishing boats, Pleasure boating, flying a plane...

we are experience a great migration to the south west. i wonder in 25 yrs that will flip due to no water..

Something has gotta give.

It’s a special place and the quality of life and weather is really hard to beat but we can’t live without water.

Big reach? I didn't make the number up. I googled it quickly.
It's massive. It doesn't need to be compared to anything. Remember I don't care that much. Skiers concerned about global warming is a oxymoron.

Saying I'm burying my head in the sand is what I'm calling your big reach.
All forms of mammalian life contributes to climate change gas production. A person can be concerned about global warming, participate in activities that generate CO gas (like simply living) but at the same time also want to take measures to address it. It's not a binary decision.

Life is complicated but I still can’t agree with this.
