Global Weirding

It’s going to become harder and harder for a lot of people to continue to justify the sacrifices they make to go skiing. The predictions and trends aren’t looking good for the working man skier.
I have been to West, Platty, Willard, Catamount, and other small areas around here. The “working man skier” has always been more present at places like that than at big western resorts.

The eastern ski industry is a lot different than the western, destination ski business for sure. The resilient ridge that’s been pushing storms away from us has (correct me if I’m wrong) given the east a long stretch of very cold temperatures or that’s what it’s looked like to me.

Looking at climate science and the predictions, how will the eastern ski industry fare? I honestly haven’t thought much about it. Maybe the arctic air will continue to head in your direction giving you guys optimal snow making weather.

49° here in Albany today.

And snowmaking usually stops after Presidents’ Week, so, realistically, we only have a small window. Gotta hope that the March forecast gets colder.

Really?? The energy used to get to resorts and the energy resorts use your get people up the mountains is massive. Anyone truly concerned with global warming would quit resort skiing yesterday
That’s more than say, golfing? World traveling as an influencer? Mountain biking? Motocross riding?

I guess I don’t understand how you quantify any of these and claim one is more so than the other.

Got some data to back that claim up? I’ve never gotten on a plane to go skiing and I generally ski at my home hill, it’s a twenty minute drive.

So I shouldn’t be concerned with global climate change as a skier?

I’m seriously confused, your post doesn’t make any sense to me.

You can be concerned. Actions speak louder than words. If you need numbers Google them but your certainly don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Snowmaking...spinning lifts. Yeah dirty dirty dirty
