Carrols Hamburgers

Actually I think I grew up when we bought this house 2 years ago.

Born in Williamstown MA. Barely remember it, we were tenants on a farm with a big red dog. Then my parents were grad students at RPI until I was in 4th grade. They graduated and took jobs in NJ, and we moved, from my beloved NY.

Upper Court St Binghamton, we lived across the river about a mile upstream. My brother owned a 17ft Grumman canoe that a friend who lived on the river let chain up behind his house.. We would paddle it to Carrols. I can remember the Looney Tunes glasses rolling around in the bottom of the boat on the return trip.

My ex had a dozen glasses boxed up when we were married. My family had a cupboard full. Not one glass has survived.

The Looney Tunes glasses are easy to find on the internet. Just looking at them brings back memories -- everyone had them back then.

Drinking caffeinated fizzed sugary cola outta a Pepe Le Pew skunk glass was always a treat.
My favorite one was Yosemite Sam or the big rooster, Foghorn Leghorn.
There may be one still stuck away in a cupboard behind something or inna box somewhere in the cellar.

I think we found the dividing line between GenX and the boomers cause I have no memory of Carrol’s at all. I remember getting Empire Strikes Back glasses from Burger King though.
