Turns out the man who was injured in the Palisades Tahoe avalanche was Australian. His sister was also involved.

I am immediately suspicious of an SF reporter second guessing and hindsighting a Palisades Tahoe patrol decision, although, as always, a full investigation by a proper body is always welcome. It's an imperfect science, as I said, and the more knowledge discovered, the better.
