Yup.When I had the rwd Safari I would buy snows IF I found myself replacing my tires in the winter. Otherwise I never thought about it. I learned to drive upstate in the eighties though so I guess technique overcame technology.

I spent a few years in Colorado late 70s when Audi first put out their AWD sedans. It was noticeable how many were buried off I-70 either in the median or off the right side. Drivers thought they were invinceable. (sp)."Anti-lock brakes, AWD and good tires help but can’t fix stupid."
Yup. When SUVs were first a thing in the mid 1990s, I used to see a lot of them in ditches when it snowed. People seem to have acquired more sense in the last few years.
