Call me crazy, but I think winter turns much colder and snowier starting next week. I'm king of glad I'm blacked out from skiing this weekend though, Saturday looks miserable and then it looks like boilerplate with strong wind on Sunday.

LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
As of 434 AM EST Wednesday...Another impactful low pressure system is
expected to move into the region late Friday night. A strong low
will track to our West over the Great Lakes, very similar to the
current system impacting the region although current trends suggest
the weekend system will be a weaker system in comparison. Strong
winds can be expected with this weekend storm as the 850mb jet
nearing 70 knots. There is also the potential for some strong winds
on the backside of this system in the St. Lawrence Valley, with some
strong southwesterly winds at 925mb. Snow can be expected at the
onset of precipitation, with a transition to rain expected due to
southeasterly flow, although a transition back to snowfall can be
expected as colder air wraps into the region. Some period of wintry
mix will be possible during the transition to rain, however there is
low confidence with precipitation type at this point to include in
the forecast. Temperatures next week look to be fairly
seasonable as we head into next week, generally in the teens to
upper 20s for highs and dropping into the teens and single
digits for lows. The next widespread precipitation for the
region looks to arrive Tuesday, however there is still a lot of
model uncertainty at this point.
