Winter Weather 23/24

Looks like everyone is going to get some love all the way up to VT. Resorts deserve this.

Platty spreads everyone out nicely even when the lots crazy full!

You mean like this?

@jasonwx when you have some time...

What are the strengths and weakness of each model?

Would love to learn. I thought someone told me once the NAM was best at snowfall in the next 24 hours.

Platty. You take your life in you our hands
Hmmmm so big dilemma. Looks like Hunter is getting more than platty. Do you go chase deeper snow and deal with crowds or rip platty with a bit less and no crowds. Dilemma!

Belle has caught so much residual overflow from both Hunter and Windahm fucking up that I will likely be the most crowded mountain in the Cats if it is not already. The news is out about their snowmaking capacity being what it is and the people have taken notice. As far as Hunter being in a potential pocket for a few more inches, based on my experience, differences in totals are negligible. Snowfall patterns in the Cats are strange, it can be bare on 28 up through Shandaken only to change drastically once you start climbing out of Pine Hill. I also have a theory that snow blows off Hunter more easily because of how it is situated and exposed.

Will just have to be one of many. In-laws have a house in Roxbury so using ski3 at Belle. Have never hit platty but on my list after seeing all the enthusiasm on this site. Some of my deepest days were at Belle.
