Winter Weather 22/23

NNJ Update - 12:15pm, it is 60F with an upward trend. Sunny, no clouds, breezy
Time to change the title here to
"Spring Weather". After all weathermans' spring is only 18 days away. Saw on the NYS Mesonet site at Whiteface that it hit 51 degrees after midnight and they reported .8" of precip, I'd guess mostly liquid.

I have a feeling that there will be pretty much no spring weather this year. The way things are going it will get cold but not enough to snow and rain until July,

Got in my vehicle and a fly flew into my face and another in my bedroom . Flys in February

If this season is true to

If this season is true to 2015-2016 that's exactly what will happen. The whole season was a disaster (which this one is better IMO) but got cold early March into April after everything melted out. Then dumped some snow late season. I skiied Superstar in mid May that year thanks to a late season dump and it wasn't questionable coverage either.

Everybody but Killington had closed since then but boy was it a good few late season days skiing Supe in May.

I truly hope that doesn't happen this year but it's not looking good. I really hope before and after when I come back from Steamboat after the first weekend in March there's a lot of skiing to be had.

I haven’t kept up with Killington this year maybe a late trip would be great.

Well at least the west is getting much needed precipitation.

I rode the lift at my local bump this afternoon with a guy who spoke with a friend in Tahoe and he claims they’ll be open till August… I have no idea if that’s true.,

We were skiing and riding the woods in late May 2016 at Sugarbush, honestly some of the best corn harvesting I've participated in. I remember the woods being completely filled in with like 20"+ of well packed corn, we were in t-shirts trying not to cut our arms in the shwack.

But yeah fuck a cold wet spring, if it wants to warm up just do it already.

We are very fortunate to have a trail network that can be ridden in the early season when things are wet, people will tell my Sterling is dry when I least expect it to be. I've been off the MTB since early January, probably time to start building fitness again I was shot on my road ride yesterday.

How's construction on that new section of Redback?
The Augusta Mine portion of the trail is more or less 100% complete up to the original loop. The new Redback is pretty much entirely roughed in with the machine but still has a lot of handwork to be done before it is really rideable not that it's keeping people away, we also still have a bridge in need of approval. Depending on the weather I would say it should be finished by late spring early summer. Redback is going to be on the steep side for runners or those looking to climb up on the bike.

I have a feeling March is going to be decent in the east. Good enough to get us into April at least.
