Winter Weather 22/23

The only hope for this season is for a repeat of 2018's "Miracle March". In late February, temps soared into the 60s. It was looking like Whiteface would have to close in early March. But then it started snowing, and it didn't stop until May.

I have a feeling March is going to be decent in the east. Good enough to get us into April at least.
It’d be great, but there needs to be some snow leftover for base. I think that a lot of mountains will be unable/unwilling to make much more snow this year, so it’s all up to the snow gods. The next two weeks will be big.

The bigger mountains seem like they’ll get through okay, but the smaller & southern mountains seem destined for a short season.

It’d help if this storm next Monday/Tuesday was snow instead of rain.

Very warm this week with rain and a sharp cool down Friday night

I skied Pico in the late eighties and early 90's I have distinct memories of at least two Washington Birthday weeks with some serious Rain days, I know because I was stuck in a condo with kids who were miserable. Don't know what the temp in Jersey was but it was definitely not snowing up Rte 4 in Vermont

In Lake Placid. It was above freezing during the day today and will be above freezing next two days. Below freezing at night, thank goodness.

Pro Skiers are organizing , saying it's beyond time to get serious about Climate Change
