not a wash out, but it's gonna be the biggest coral reef this side of the Great BarrierThe Gore webcams don't look like a washout, and it's gonna get cold for a few days. Is the rain almost over? Maybe it won't be too bad.

The wind will dry it out and the tillers will take care of the rest. Maybe even a good base in the trees. I'm glad I wasn't planning to ski the next few days.not a wash out, but it's gonna be the biggest coral reef this side of the Great Barrier
Thirty years ago even in the Catskills opening day was scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving, and they wouldn't open unless there was terrain for all levels. Now Thanksgiving is sketchy, and they open with the WROD. Natural snow is an occasional bonus, but snowmaking is the product even in northern Vermont.Seems like I remember even as little as a decade back when having most trails open between Christmas and New Year at my home mountain, Bristol, was pretty much a given. Just doesn't seem to happen anymore.
Unless it's rain, in December. I'll take a dry slot every time.I hate those
The snow is going to be wet and soft, then hard freeze. Firm and fast will be the conditions for the foreseeable future. Sharpen those edges! The wind will dry it out and the tillers will take care of the rest. Maybe even a good base in the trees. I'm glad I wasn't planning to ski the next few days.

There won't be time for the wind to dry this snow, it's going to freeze like the earth did in The Day After Tomorrow. The wind will dry it out and the tillers will take care of the rest. Maybe even a good base in the trees. I'm glad I wasn't planning to ski the next few days.

So the same os every year around here? The snow is going to be wet and soft, then hard freeze. Firm and fast will be the conditions for the foreseeable future. Sharpen those edges!
Yeah I hear ya. I was thinking about that after my comment. So when I say it was rare not to have most trails open between Christmas and New Year a decade ago at Bristol, that was even with snow making inferior to today. So the climate problem is even amplified, because the last ~7 years or so they really struggle despite all the new snow making investment.Thirty years ago even in the Catskills opening day was scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving, and they wouldn't open unless there was terrain for all levels.
