This looks nice.

The weather has been crap this year, but just about every mountain besides Gore, Whiteface and Hunter have a ton of terrain open. Plattekill's at 100%.

Plattekill was great 1/27 Friday, but there were quite a few trails and connections closed. Not sure the exact amount, but the trail report for 1/28 listed 14 trails as open. That said, the mountain rode great on Friday and many of the "closed" trails actually had mostly good coverage, which is why they will be close to 100% this upcoming weekend.

I've been disappointed by Windham's snowmaking efforts this year, particularly on East Peak. They started off great, but seem to have missed many windows to blow more snow after all the terrible weather we've had.

Many seasons have one "great" run.

Not saying this one was great, but it was much better than the suckiness before.

In any case I think it is too early for winter to pull the rip cord.

He hoped. Without any real basis in well, anything really.

It's just NAKED optimism.

Seems like Jay is doing alright. According to their newsletter

“The current 7-day total sits at a comfortable 50 inches, and in the past 12 days, the mountain has been buried in 71 inches.”
