It's like a big teeter totter. It is RARELY cold and wintery in both the east and west.

West opening up often (but not always) means east shutting down.

as of now monday's event looks to fav the cats...
it looks like we will have 10 days of winter coming up....the gfs is showing that the west will open up again and ya all know what that means

the 12z had the the rain line around the cats ish.. the 18z has the catskills in all rain and more snow for the adks..
so yes you are spot on

West stays cold but with high pressures to our north we are setting up major gradient pattern, still hard to say where this ends up. Hopefully it’s somewhere just north of Albany

WOW. Jazzing for you guys. That weekend is my son's bday party so likely no skiing unless we do a Sunday run but he won't want to get up early that day - he has a day long scouting event and then his party with a bunch of 12 yo boys . . .. Have fun guys!!!
