My perception of the the Meeker Hollow effect is that it channels wind up towards the mountain and Platte is just one big bowl to catch it all, not sure if that will help for this storm. Fingers crossed?Nailbiter!
I can only go for the day on Friday, thinking greek or could platty be ok ? Meeker hollow effect perhaps?
I like this idea. Maybe the bowl creates a whirlpool effect that pulls snow in from the surrounding areaMy perception of the the Meeker Hollow effect is that it channels wind up towards the mountain and Platte is just one big bowl to catch it all, not sure if that will help for this storm. Fingers crossed?
I think that puts platty on the edge of 6 -12? But that's gonna be a wet 6 -12 on top of a wet rained on snow...
Isn't Gore on the edge of the 6-12/ 12-18 on this run? The way I rule of thumb Gore's location is to look at the pointy part of NY that goes into Lake Ontario and go across east. I'd say on this map in the 12-18.
A friend is a local who was skiing TSV today. There were plenty of powder hounds first thing in the morning. Only the frontside was open. Another friend is an intermediate from DC who is doing a Ski Week. Needless to say, needed a few tips on how to get up after a fall in deep, fluffy snow. This is why Taos is one of my fav areas
