What are your goals for the 2020/21 ski season?

After 9.5 months of reading daily briefs from the medical center , i am even more certain the worst is yet to come . So due diligence is the order of the day .

Agree. What happened in NYC is no starting to happen up here. You should see the bruises on my wifes face from wearing multiple masks for 12+ hrs a day. Instead of worrying about the number of people gathering for T-day, Andy should've been more concerned with the party's at SUNY. The direct coloration between them return of students and the rise of Covid cases here isn't a coincidence. Nothing can be done about it now, I get that, but we can not let that happen again.

I might be that close - but I still get there early - "I need a good parking spot !" - to leave a good spot and come back ....oh my ! isn't there a Seinfeld episode on that ? I have issues.
Lol It’s all about the spot. It sets the tone for the day

Maybe, maybe not. Different strokes and all. Some people spend money on all kinds of season passes and skiing 30 days a year. I generally get half that, so what I save on lift tickets and such I spend on lodging....and I’ll take the hot tub, too!

FYI.....slope side lodging at Crystal can be had for $200 a night, give or take. The Roadway in Enumclaw, an hour away, pushes $100. Kind of a no-brained there if you need a hotel anyway. The only slope side lodging I’ve done in the last 20 years has been on Western trips, gotta make those count.

I suppose you’d opt for a hostel in the Dolomites? Dolomites, huh? You are doing much better than me, it seems!
Actually, slope side in Europe is a lot cheaper. The hotel I'm looking at in Arraba has a major quad right out the door. Two meals a day included for about 125 euro. Lift tickets are very reasonable, too. East coast people, especially if you're close to a major airport, should really consider Europe over the west. Food is so much better.

As if the cheap lodging and better food were the only expenses associated with crossing the pond!

Just checked the rates at the Alpine Inn at Crystal for nights I’m considering. $100 a night. As you are pointing out, slope side doesn’t have to be that expensive.

As a retired SUNY executive , i was amazed that colleges opened rather than go totally on line . It doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict that college students as a whole will isolate and not socialize appropriately or inappropriately .

My prediction was and still is a systemic disruption of higher education , where only the very elite instituions will maintain the residential component? Other institutions will morph into a hybrid of primarily distance learning Together with short term highly focused lab and practicums required by STEM based programs . I anticipate many consolidations and mergers and closures as the perfect storm of the BIRTH DEARTH AND RESIDUAL PSYCHOLOGICAL AND FINANCIAL impacts of a post covid recovery play out .

Sending upwards of 90 per cent of hs grads to college is no longer sustainable either from a job placement or cost perspective .

Yeah, but, no offense to Crystal, but, it's Crystal. And the food over there! Madone! Seriously. Just use points for airfare. Takes a long time, but worth it.

It's not as though the greedy higher education industry hasn't brought this upon themselves. A reckoning is long overdue. It's a shame how much a good education costs.

Just use points....if you have them to use. You are doing much better than me, it seems! ;)

Yeah....Crystal is Crystal, but not much here compares to the Alps or the Dolomites. You been to Crystal?

By the same standards (Alta and Crystal both have 2,600 acres and 2,500+ vertical) you’d have to say the same thing about Alta!
