Total Solar Eclipse coming to NY: April 8, 2024

Um I think we need to know the answer to this.
type in "gore mountain ny"in the ”explore” thingy🍺in the link ya posted.
It’ll give ya a number, including duration.
Ya can check a lot of places.
The weather may vary that day and time.

"Due to a decrease in light and visibility during this event, we plan to close our ski lifts at 2 pm for the day, this includes the Cloudsplitter Gondola."

If you look at the map you shared, it seems to follow a line from Utica to Montpelier. If you pull up Gore on Apple Maps and draw the line, Gore appears to be perilously close to the edge of the totality zone

Me and someone else on this forum find whole draw of the eclipse a bit weird...watching it get dark during the day:unsure:
We have a eclipse everyday in totality from around 4:50pm to 6:45 am

Yeah but that’s the earth's spinnin gettin in the way of the sun & doesn’t have the moon's blockin factor.
April 8 next year does @100.00% for parts of the earth around these parts.
It won’t last long. YMMV
But the last one for these parts changed things...it seems.

Yeah I get where you two are coming from. But I've heard people who experience it feel it is very moving. If it is coming to my neighborhood, why wouldn't I check it out.

Broski that red line is the outer most edge of totality, so Gore is just outside of it? How accurate is the estimate of totality? I'm 4 miles west, so I'd see something cool from the cabin? I get it, if true, it would be short.

Not In The Path Of Totality? No Problem, Eclipse Still Has Plenty To Offer

this is a partial , i think you will be fine...
