The Whole SKI3 Frequent Skier Card Thing

Cool. It looks like they are giving us another August deadline. I like that.

But I am definitely in it, and for the long haul. Gore!
Looks like next season the B family is basing out of Gore . . . . At least I'll finally get into the glades there. Harv, maybe you'll show me and my son around? Maybe my daughter will be into trees by then too : )

Got out locally recently for a few days with grandkids for their first year skiing -great fun.
Hadn't been in several years, and now looking ahead to next season, maybe at Gore (haven't been there in @10yr).
A few Q's on Gore Passes:
  • Apparently Gore season pass holders had priority/skied this winter with no restriction or blocked days?
  • Is $809 season pass "all-in" -no tax/fees added?
  • What is recent history for daily tix annual price increase? See currently $105 until 3/17, then $90 after.
  • Not familiar with SKI3 Frequent Skier Card. You paid $119 up front, then load as req'd with 1st and every 6th day free, and tix are $53/69 wkdays/wkds? So to ski (6) wkd days: $119+(4)(69) = $395 vs full price (6)(105) = $630? Total of (13) wkd ski days appears to be break-even point with next year's $809 season pass.
  • Based on above calcs, the SKI3 Frequent Skier card sounds like a great deal(?) That's assuming tech issues/blocked days in this thread don't exist next season!
  • When do SKI3 Frequent Skier cards normally go on sale?
Thanks for your time!

I’ve been doing FSC card for several years and have found it to be the right solution for me, who typically skis 8-10 days at Gore/WF and my teenage son who does around 6. I seriously considered season pass this year with Covid having me upstate more, but decided against it thinking I would explore Vermont more. It was the wrong call after Vermont closed down (I did one day at Bromley so my son could see some friends). I’ve done 15 days so far at Gore/WF, with four being free (FSC cards were technical nightmares for online purchases in Nov/Dec but I got an extra free day out of it)

your math seems right - although important to remember if your first day is in nov or early dec with limited trails retail is typically around $45 so you’re not saving as much. - I am now contemplating how many days I am likely to do after 3/17 this season as well as next year when I am perhaps back to ‘normal’ or even less as work will likely be nuts.

Bought the FSC this year after a 2 year stint with a M-F non-holiday, only Gore pass. Used those passes enough to make it worthwhile but have yet to use my inFrequent Skier thing at Gore. Local bumps in CNY have been good and uncrowded so no need to leave the farm for longer Dak trips. Hopefully corn harvest is good as it may allow for longer season.

Thanks for your replies-

FSC savings appear to begin with the 2nd full-price day:
$119 FSC+$69 2nd day = $188 total vs ($105)(2 days)=$210

FSC apparently is the cheapest way to ski Gore 2-13 days regular season wkd/holiday(?)
That assumes next winter is back to normal/no limitations (vaccines go well and covid variants don't muck things up).

Is the FSC a limited-time offer each season, and when is it made available?

THX

That’s if ya go Holiday or weekend. If I went 3 times mid-week it’d probably pay off. Deadlines have been in August or so when some folks aren’t thinking skiing. The weekend-holiday blackout thing is after ya’ve used the first day this year. If ya got the full season pass ya weren’t blacked-out, allegedly.

I had the blackout dates season pass. Bad choice didn’t realize how many there were and that my kids’ passes were not blacked out! Wound up buying a few days extra. However season passes come with sweet perks, like 1 free ticket anytime and free rentals. Got my son to Whiteface 2x and Belleayre 1x free. WF is best deal for free fix obviously. I am going all-in next year on no restrictions and possibly Epic/Ikon. I work a lot and don’t like to have to schedule days or worry about missing snow. Who knows what next year holds. This year was key with ORDA season passes - no worries go skiing! I also don’t like doing the whole ski math thing - I’d rather pay for freedom. It costs more but worth it to me. My more than 2 cents.

Yes - a Limited Season Pass to save $160 that blacks out Xmas wk, MLK wkd, and Feb break not worth it to me.
Your comments led me to check the "Mountains Plus" Passholder Perks: 1 non-holiday ticket, 1 half-price non-holiday ticket, and one free rental pkg, some free off-season stuff and lots of 10% off stuff. Nice!
Was reserving specific days a new covid requirement this season, and expected next season?
ie: normally, just load your SKI3 FSC and go whenever you want?
If reservations are an ongoing policy, what happens if you can't make it at the last minute?
