My wife went out to the parking lot after school on Monday to find someone had side-swiped her car, leaving some pretty significant damage. Ugggh, sonofa….hard to believe someone picking up their kid at an elementary school would do that and leave. Evidence that some people really do suck.
But the joke is going to be on them! My wife told the security guard about the damage and he said “let’s go to the video tape!” Yup, the school has video of the incident, including the woman getting out of her car and looking at the damage before driving off. We were also able to identify the woman and her address. All that information was provided to the police along with an accident report being filed. Police said they would be contacting her. I wonder if she lied to the police or came clean, we are waiting to find out.
Knowing the car, the perp, and the address I went and gathered a little evidence of my own, should we need it to pursue the matter further.
Hoping she came clean to the police and we will get her insurance info so we can file a claim through her insurance. If not….there would seem to be enough evidence for us to pursue the matter further and make her regret her decisions! Hitting someone’s car and leaving, lying to the police, those would seem to be decisions that would have more serious repercussions than just a claim against her insurance. We’ll find out….
