The Sand Trap: for Players, Hackers and Duffers

Had a strange week this week on the course.

We played the longer Riverside course Wednesday and did not putt well at all . Iended up with a 44 had 2 double bogies.Just couldn't find my groove

This am reversed it . I shot a 38 with 5pars and a bird . Thrill of the day 46 footer for a Bird. Played the upriver inland course at 8am, it was a might brisk but sunny .

This afternoon the Queen and i traveled downriver to a beautiful little village with a nice 3 mile riverside walk which we did .temps in the high 70s

Came home to a chicken barbie and yooge homemade french fries with horseradish cheese and fresh garden green beans and some ice cream

Beautiful quiet day on the St Larry.

Btw holiday traffic and visitors to this region are both way down . Not much boat traffic on the American side of The St Larry 🙄 either Which is odd on a holiday

Average week this week shot 40 on Tuesday 41'today on the longer course .

Today's driving was much improved averaged 217 for all silly stick tee offs had first tee shot of 250 yds which was a yooge surprise . I had just adjusted the stick to a 12 degree Draw setting.

Putting was meh had a damn double and one 3 putt on a par 3 after I had driven the green 😵

Gonna have a nasty lesion surgically removed from my forearm Monday .May knock me off the game for awhile ugh

Don’t usually get excited about shooting mid-upper eighties on a normal 125 slope or so but Monday I missed a 6 footer for a 79. 43+37=80 on a 149 slope. Ok we played tee back from the ladies at 5600 yrds, 7k requires too many 3 woods and hate not breaking a hundred.
Arthur Hills Double JJ Thoroughbred , Rothbury Mi.
Was just a putting demon on back, take a 37 any day, any course.
To boot my buddy paid my green fee( $30 senior Mondays inc. a dog and non alco bev) and his brother bought lunch w a strong g+tonic and I reciprocated.
Easily a top ten golf day!

Grace Kim wins The Evian in France with an amazing ending.
Tap in eagle on her last hole to get into a playoff.
Hits her 2nd shot into a hazard on #18, the first playoff hole, then chips it in for a birdie. Opponent makes a birdie.
Makes an eagle again on #18 to win on the 2nd playoff hole.
Holey Moley.

Drove 2 hours to my bud who is in his upper seventies and had a heart attack in Jan .Great to get out and play w him.
Ted ( Michigan skier) would know this course I’ve been eyeballing. Grande in Jackson, wanted to see if it was as nice and stout a track as Calderone. Sorry Ted it was spontaneous and booked a golfnow 2 for $70 , regular $54 senior wkday ea.

Ever since moving up to the tee behind the ladies(5500 yds) my scoring has gone way down and it felt good. Another 37 and 41, on fire.
Never played it before but will be back. Only a half dozen cars in lot, place to ourselves.
Tons of bogs and swamps, huge greens, very plush conditions.
Awesome day with a good bud.
Wife recovering from diverticulitis will be out of golf a bit.
