A buddy refers to my Volkls as Crud Munching Monsters. He has several pair of longer heavier K2s that are munchier yet.

Best Backcountry conditions of the year right now. You can ski anywhere. Get the compass out and go. And when I get lost I can just follow my tracks back. I have 24.6 miles logged in the past three days. Most of them the past two. Saturday it wasn't set up yet.

I'm on tenth mountain division. They still work. My g-3 won't lock the toe any longer. Little sporty on the downhills, Still going thanks to the generous people in here.

I'd like to hear more about this.
When I hear the word Karhu or see the logo, it makes me think ADVENTURE!
I had a pair of XCDGTs for 10 years and beat the shit out of them, patterns rubbed flat.
Then right before they stopped making them I got new pair and have kept them in pretty good shape. They should last the rest of my life.

MIne are about 15 yrs old and pretty flat but still ski nice in the BC. I think MADSU took over Karhu and maybe the same type ski is available?

there are probably some here more knowledgable than I but I think the karhu 10th mtn became the Madshus Epoch and is now the Panorama 68. I think it also went Guides > Annums > Panorama ##? Not sure about the GT's
My Epochs and boots are around 10 years old, unfortunately my boots blew out the only time I got them out this year and have been sitting on the work bench all season waiting to be re-glued

The briar patch, from below. There doesn't seem to be a way around this, but I am going to continue looking!
The drop, or one of them, somehow it is always gloomy and spooky in here, even on a nice day!
One of the more open areas above the drop and the briar patch. Snow was really good (not sticky) and supportive!
