That August Itch

The wrong boots take all the fun out of skiing for me
I've never had a bad fitting pair of boots, but I can imagine.

I see people who unbuckle as soon as they get down the hill. I guess they are having fun or they wouldn't do it.

At some point, my dad figured out that it was cheaper and easier to buy wine. He also taught chemistry and knows way more about the science of wine than I ever will.
Lots of great local wine round these parts. Years ago the grapes were just sold to make juice and Maddog.
Once they let folks make it & sell it directly, the wineries came to life.
Did yer dad teach a specific type of chemistry or general basics?
Lots of smart chemists have lived round Ithaca. Several have won Nobel’s.

The tent sale at Alpine Sport Shop in Saratoga is traditionally my start to ski season. I stopped by on my way to work briefly on Thursday then went back with my daughter and her boyfriend Saturday. I always buy at lease one pair of ski poles but while my dauther was trying on boots I wandered around the store. There was this set up leaning in a corner. Volkl skis set up with Solomon AT bindings and a note "w/skins"...Mine now! She got new boots and gloves and since he bought her the boots, he got a free T-shirt...Let it Snow!

You guys are so busted. From Google today:

He taught scary chemistry. All chemistry scares me. I got a D in HS chemistry, despite his help. So not my thing. :p
