Oddly enough after seeing some of the videos and the Halloween storm a few years back WG is on my bucket list for some bcXcd fun, Its just hard to drive south to ski. I'm hoping to parlay it onto one of my Pittsburgh trips one of these daysHave you ever been out to Whitegrass? That place seems to have a vibe that makes me wish I was an XC skier.
I skied there on a Saturday in Feb 2020 w/my son on his first ski trip out west and we had an amazing day. The back bowls and lifts were surprisingly not busy as people were very spread out. Surprisingly we spent very little time in lift lines. We only skied down the front side once at the end of the day which was much busier. Hopefully the surge in skiing popularity retracts to pre-pandemic levels this season.I promised my old neighbor I would ski vail. He died a few years ago at 90 something. He was one of the original ski school instructors at gore. He loved to talk about the back bowls and made me promise to go there. just hope to catch it on a weekday with minimal shit show.
It didn’t in golf this summer and it rained a lot after mid June.Hopefully the surge in skiing popularity retracts to pre-pandemic levels this season.
Good point--- the golf courses were still busy but then again not everything was 100% open and fully back to normal. Yeah we can prey for severe cold (it never bothers me) but I wouldn't count on it.It didn’t in golf this summer and it rained a lot after mid June.
Hopefully it snows & stays cold enough to spread out the hoards.
If I put my boots on, I count it! ?
