Roasting away now..

Tim Baker is from Texas. That’s cool, I used to ski in jeans too.

Broski hasn't skied at West Point yet. I’m looking forward to this year’s trip report.

Belleayre is too boring. I love when people say that.

Jason must not work at Walmart because his roast chicken number would be more like 10,000.

Someone needs to apologize to Benny for waiting at Huntah for a ski day that never happened.

I knew there were ski areas down South but I didn’t know there are so many. My Muffin wants to go there so now I have to drive south to go skiing. That’s weird.

Marz probably needs to bring her car in for an oil change.

Planning a trip to the Alps is hard when the websites are in another language.

Lots of things going through RA’s mind when he’s breaking those trails. Curious to hear more about it.

Still waiting for the salsa and steak taco recipes.

Harvey crushes it at Platty. Although I’m pretty sure we all knew that already.

I hope it’s a bluebird powder day when Sig makes it to the back bowls. I have a feeling the old-timer will help out with that.
Nice.
Nearly all upbeat too. ? ❄️

Already have the oil change scheduled for just before I drive to Colorado in Dec. Have had it a year, about 19,000 miles. :)

The complete sampler for the Southeast coming from the north could be Canaan Valley and Timberline in Davis, WV (can do in one day), Bryce and Massanutten near Harrisonburg, VA (Bryce in the morning), Wintergreen (midweek) on the way to Banner Elk, NC. Sugar and Beech (could be split but maybe 1 day each, midweek). Going to Cataloochee only makes sense if spending a little time in Gatlinburg, TN to see the lift and glass bridge that Boyne Resorts built. Night skiing is one reason it's possible to check out two places on the same day.

I left out Snowshoe and Winterplace in WV. Snowshoe is expensive for lodging and lift tickets. It's an upside-down resort. The resort "village" is at the top of the ridge. Really no budget lodging anywhere close by. Driving in WV means 2-lane mountain roads. If it's snowing, much slower going than in VT. Winterplace in on the Interstate highway but isn't worth the detour. It has great snow tubing but nothing special for the skiing or vibe.

Have you ever been out to Whitegrass? That place seems to have a vibe that makes me wish I was an XC skier.

Nope. Have read a lot about it on DCSki though. Most of my trips to Davis, WV are from Massanutten. About 2.5 hours away, so doesn't leave much time for exploring since I usually don't overnight.

Planning on staying a couple nights at the newly renovated Timberline Lodge in late Feb with a friend from PA. I had a very good time skiing off the new detachable 6-pack last season. T'line has the best tree skiing in the region. Everyone in the area is very, very glad that the Perfect family had a chance to buy the place. The former owners were total idiots and probably crooks too. The Perfect family have run Perfect North in the midwest successfully for 40+ years. Hopefully will do the same going forward at Timberline.
