Song Conditions

Skied Song from 10 after it opened at 10 till 10 after 1. MG PP. upper 20s. no real wind. No lines.
Snow was in the air for the first couple hours with a couple inches of fresh lake effect fluff.
There’s a small crust on the untracked.
Sun even shined a few times when it was snowing otherwise ya could still see shadows.
Nothing new was open but the 3 top to bottom trails all skied well.
Mainly skied Bali Hai. Skiing was good fun.

The most interesting was the skimo youngster doing laps as fast as the chair lift went until he hit the steeps on the triple and even then it was still close.
I talked with him briefly at the top a couple times.
He said he competes and usually goes up and down 8-10 times when he’s out at Song.
I mentioned that Skimo is gonna be an Olympic sport at the next one in Tyrol
He smiled and said he knew.

Skied Song from the crack of before 11 till 2:30 on why not Wednesday.
19F no warmer or colder, light wind, blue skies which morphed into puffy clouds later on.
No lines & Twas a Zip-Pah-Tee-Do-Dah-Day.
Laps on Bali were fun.
Lots of trails open which had some recent lake effects pow on em.
Never went down Otto’s as they were blowing it and Chopsticks.
Chopsticks had 20 foot whales that were getting pushed out.
The groomer left a track of cord around 1PM on Stormy Weather/Tuxedo Junction while coming up to get over to Chopsticks which was fun to cruse a few laps on.
Talked with another dang skimo skinner who was friends with the one above & having fun.
Gonna go again Thursday, this time with the usual suspects.
Skiing is fun. ⛷️

Skied Song again today but the usual suspect were there so it made the rides up funner.
Groundhog Day, , conditions were the same as yesterday, but the Sun only came out for a couple peees
Big whales from overnight blowing on Chopsticks were getting pushed again.
It’s The Racing Trail and should be open soon for a long time.
Fun times were had by all.

Seems some kids mighta needed a fishing pole & a big stuffed pooch.

Got out for an afternoon romp at Song. Upper 30s maybe low 40s. Light wind. The sun shined. Skied till it was all shadows.
It was all good. The ripper racers were warming up when we left. Should be a nice to ski.

Song had 2 snowcats pushing out manmade piles ❄️ on the Dipsy Doodles trail(s) (upper and lower) on March 1.
Zoomer boomer groomers were sweet.
Letitsnow. ❄️⛷️

"It’s currently 23 degrees with a partly cloudy sky. The forecast for Friday, a bit of sunshine this morning, clouding up with snow showers in the afternoon, snow becoming heavy at times late, total snow accumulations through Saturday morning 6 to 11”.
We are skiing and riding on a 16-56 inch base with a machine groomed packed powder surface. Upper & Lower Dipsey Doodle are finally OPEN!
"
Emphasis added from today’s ski report.

Song was firm and fast yesterday and very edge able but not buttery like on Wednesday.
Dipsy doodle skied well early and was fun. It’s narrowest black diamond and should be a good late season addition trail with tree shadow protection.
Ottos was good but the traverse over and back to the main lift made the other trails see more ski time.
Looks like folks are enjoying it today midmorning.
