When we fished a lot we used this to try to figure out how big and which direction the waves were gonna be. It makes a difference to have a good idea of what it’s gonna be like.Wind is a bitch. I windsurfed a bit. Not easy to plan your life around.
wind is a big issue at mnt snow. when the chairs on the north face stop, there is nothing else worth skiing there. I have left numerous times when wind has shut down the north face. they used to have a 1 hour snow guarantee which allowed you to grab a voucher for another day.I think that, for some, windhold forecasts could be valuable. Not sure how accurate his calls are on that.
Personally I don't seem to get caught in windholds very often, but maybe at Mt Snow it's a thing.
Similar to The Gore where ya can find less windy lifts.The advantage of Killington's varied layout is that wind rarely, if ever, shuts the entire mountain down. There's usually a chair or two that survives.
