Lol, I thought for the longest time that you were Skiology Matt until someone recently enlightened me. It was half the reason I was busting your balls around here. I sincerely apologize for that half.
oh god.... I dont know if I should be offended or embarrassed!! :ROFLMAO:

Julie’s posts though, they are always great. I really wish she had more of a presence on NYSB.
this is probably the only thing I ever look at on Skiology, the rest is pretty much TLDR..

Matt has been obsessed with the idea of a subscription service for at least 4 years. He has floated it multiple times publicly, but it never got anywhere. I agree with some of his hot takes, like the one I shared in the thread titled ski industry debundling, but I would not pay to see his weather updates. I think his group has existed for 5 years now. It was originally called "Northeast Winter Weather and Ski Conditions". I was friends with him for a while, but disagreements related to covid kind of soured that friendship. I'm not sure if he still holds a grudge. I recently refollowed his page (not the group), because I do find the weather updates useful, but it's not something I would pay for.

I look at Skiology weather forecasts periodically, but for a Nordic skier they don't do anything. Is his weather forecasting significantly more accurate than NOAA? Maybe then it's worth a subscription Otherwise, no thank you.

I dont know if Matt is on here or not, I would hope he is. Personally I am tired of him asking for money for what he does, he started a public Facebook group and now he is overwhelmed with the amount of work it is to maintain, I dont get how money fixes this. Quit your day job if the Facebook group is your passion. I know a lot of people find it useful (I don't, I Ski 4 different mountains and know how to read a map), but it would be such a better page if he trimmed the fat, just stick to the weather 3 or 4 days out, stop with the were looking a storm 10 days out and the dogs running down the race course posts. I would say this to Matt, but he kicked me out a while back so I get screen shots of his posts.

Matt isn't a member here, but there is a decent chance he would see what you post here.

To a large extent I agree with you, you can do it all yourself. Still, it's nice to get a heads up on storm potential 10 days out. I check the long term every single morning in winter, but still find it useful to have someone else watching it too.

Like you, I would like to see him stick to weather and conditions forecasting. The drama is exhausting.

Drama does generate traffic and clicks. The post complaining about Waterville Valley having only paid options for bag storage got 168 comments and was enough to get Waterville Valley to reverse the policy and provide free bag storage again.

WV seems like a sore spot.

We were at Hunter today and booted up in a snowstorm in the parking lot because, well because.

They should allow bags in the lodge off peak, I guess if you allow it on Friday it would be hard to prohibit Saturday.

I agree that Julie has a unique voice that she is developing. Her honesty is striking.
