Skiers: If You Could Move Anywhere... ?

Pinzolo is in an autonomous province. I just wanna visit around there again for a bit.
The folks are nice in an amazing place. May be that’s why they are nice.
I ain’t ever gonna forgetaboutit.
Folks made a movie about Pinzolo.
The new 10 seater gondola to Doss del Sabion is a beauty.
Some of the folks skiing in the show must be related somehow.

Two structures.
11 Bedrooms 12 baths. Main Street, North Creek, NY.⛷️🏂
Price cut to $285K.
“Town wastewater project believed to be ready and functional for 2026."
By the time ya renovate it folks can flush the toilet in a dang UpState beauty.

That's a teardown. Hope they don't screw up the mosaic. Took a lot of time to do that.

Man, looking at the comps, and that certainly is an argument against the futility of the Tupper project. Here you are, decades in with Gore as a very well funded ski area by the state, and you can't give that town away. Hasn't even gotten a WFH bounce. Is there broadband there?

Has workforce affordable housing, senior citizen housing and/or Airbnb potentialities.

I'm quite happy in Saranac Lake so far.
Peter what's the best thing about it, and what's the worst?

Where is the sewer system in NC? It's really under construction?

I don't know about NC, but I'm on municipal water and sewer in the village. One less system to go wrong. Although the well water at Tmax 'n' Topo's is the best I've ever had.

Pros of living in Saranac Lake:

  1. Thriving arts scene. Both music and fine arts.
  2. Walking distance to downtown: my dentist, grocery stores, a good coffee shop, pharmacy, multiple restaurants and bars, and other retail establishments.
  3. Easy access to hiking, canoeing and skiing. Although we'll see what happens with parking at popular trail heads in the summer.
  4. Drivers are generally more laid back. Although I've seen a couple bonehead moves, there's nothing like the culture of "having to beat the other guy" that exists on NJ roads.
  5. There's probably more that will occur to me later.

Cons:

  1. Ingredients one needs to cook some cuisines are hard to find. For example, when I go to NJ for band rehearsal this weekend, I'm stopping at Wegman's to get things I need to make sofrito, a Puerto Rican condiment. Up here, cilantro comes in a little plastic bag. No bueno. I need a whole entire bunch of it.
  2. If one likes shopping big box stores, the nearest Target, Lowe's, etc are 50 miles down a 2 lane road in Plattsburgh. I never imagined I'd be doing this much mail order.
  3. I was surprised at some of the living costs up here. My health insurance premium is double what it was in NJ. My car insurance is 50% more. Perhaps some other, long-time UpState residents can weigh in on this. @tirolski ? @Campgottagopee ?
  4. Property taxes are collected in one lump sum rather than quarterly. Make it make sense.

Very interesting regarding your insurance premiums. I don't have an answer as to why they would be so much more? It does seem odd!

Have you been to The Belvedere yet? If not, I highly recommend that you go. By far it's one of my favorite places to go out and eat.

Everybody's car insurance is going up. It's a national problem.

And, in cons, you forgot to say that it's one of the coldest places in the country.
