Ski Travel 2020/2021 Season

Yeah, that’s the boat I think I’m in.....although with like 6 feet of snow in the forecast for the summit of Mt. Baker this week (sadly, nothing at resort level 5k, though), an in-ignorable itch could annoyingly develop!

That’s the one good thing about airlines removing cancellation/change fees. It’s possible to maybe get something on the books (dreamers gotta dream).....then cancel if this shit doesn’t calm down enough.

I'm convinced it's not about surfaces. It's about breathing and distance. All of this cleaning is IMO a waste of time, or feel good window dressing. Long ago we stopped wiping everything.

I don't have a link or a scientific study to prove it. I'm sure eventually we'll know precisely, but I'm going with that, for now.

That backs up every pre-conceived notion I had. ?

Thanks for posting.

My answer to this thread is predictable. All my skiing over the last 10 years has been east coast drive skiing, and I'm not changing it this year. Hell last year I only got out of NY once, my opening day at Big K. I had a decent, if short season too.

Hopefully NJ will keep it together so I will be welcome at my home in NY.

It seems NY/NJ/CT seem to be working as one state. There is way too much cross travel between the three states to try and limit travel between the three. You will be fine going to NY.

Vermont will loosen up their travel limits before ski season unless there is a 2nd wave. They have the same financial issues as every other state.

I’m struggling to believe the pandemic is as bad as the media has portrayed it. The numbers just don’t show a need to live in fear imho.

linens and pillows get washed at a temperature that viruses can’t survive. You’re ok there. It’s definitely small spaces and close contact where the majority of transmissions are happening.

Vermont is going so far as to ban their residents from visiting specific counties in New York. It is ok to shop, but not recreate in those counties. In adjacent Washington county N.Y., people shopped and they were ok. Others went apple picking and have to quarantine for 14 days. Insane

All of that sounds silly.
