Ski Lift FAIL at Song Mtn Yesterday !

What I have read in the comments in skicny.com, Peter has not said or done any thing for the people that were stranded so far..
In the article linked above.
Ide, who had paid $118 to ski that day with her son, said she asked for a refund. They wanted to give her a voucher, but she refused. Rodormer, who said she paid about $1,000 for a season pass, said they just took her name.
The lift was repaired Monday, on a day it’s already closed. Harris said the lift will be operational on Tuesday.
“I’m just so relieved we got down,’' Ide said, “and grateful to the ski patrol.”

They're lucky it was a relatively balmy 25°, had it been one of the colder days we've had lately I wonder if hypothermia might not have been an issue. Man, what's with all these lift failures lately? I wonder if the labor problem is a contributing factor? I'm used to issues with Greek's lifts, but 2 evacs at Elk, and this at Song, crazy.
I say it's because of the covid lazy attitudes of workers. People don't seem to give a shit about their jobs anymore.

IMO lifts breaking down is part of skiing. Old lifts, new lifts, doesn't matter cause shit happens. Not much different than anything else with a motor.
It's been pretty cold (and icy in some places) --- yeah so stuff breaks down. My only question is that when it happens for the persons that bought a day pass and lose out on time they'd otherwise would have spent making runs?

While we didn't need to be hoisted down on Saturday, we did lose 25 minutes in the golden opening hours before things got busy and skied off. I didn't ask for any comp but wondering if there is any standard practice to comp customers?

Besides the lift fiasco people have been slamming skicny about everything from the grooming, bathrooms, service at the bars / restaurants etc. Geeze, we finally get a good dump of natural snow, with temps above negative numbers and a bluebird day. . . What do you expect ??? YES it will be crowded ! and YES with the current labor shortage, service has been slow, and the lift lines have been long. We were at Lab on that Sunday, the lines were maybe a few minutes wait, nobody noticed any fowl smells from the bathrooms. . .?? We had good service in the Puffin. . . ? So to all the butthurt folks who have been posting "We will take our business to Greek (or some where else)" "DONT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU ON YOUR WAY OUT !

In golf folks can get a rain check if ya don’t get in so many holes. YMMV.

Friend played nearly all the holes at Pebble Beach once for free with his sons as they were looking for folks to trade a refund for stopping to let others speed up play. They were waiting on every shot too. It’s not a bad place to wait.

I'm not aware of any standard practice within the ski biz regarding lift closures or issues. For me I've learned to keep my expectations in check, and not sweat the "stuff" I can't control. Granted, it's taken my a long time to get to this point, but I truly try and let shit roll off my back. Life's too short for me to worry about lifts being down, snowmobile trails being closed, etc., I choose to make the best of what's in front of me.

Expectations are predetermined disappointments ✌️

Dude, it's like that everywhere. Just look at some of the whining going on at Greek. Those leaving Lab/Song will find it the same no matter where they go. Grass isn't greener on the other side, it just ain't that way.

Good for you for recognizing the issues that Song/Lab are dealing with and just rolling with it. Cheers

I haven't been in CNY in a while, but those whiners sound like they're from Skaneateles. ;)
