So my old Grandoe gloves are toast. They have too many holes/rips to use this season. They are 15 years old, so they certainly did their job.

Now I need to buy new ones. It looks like Grandoe is no more, so what brand should I look for? I need fingered gloves, with partial leather. Average warmth is fine.

What say you?

I’m a fan of Leki gloves with Trigger S....but then you need Trigger S pokes to go with. Well worth it, IMHO.

Hestra makes great gloves.

For medium cold, I second the Kinco recommendation. If you want to get expensive gloves for when it’s really cold, they’ll last a lot longer if you have Kincos (or some equivalent off brand) for normal days.

Kinco 1927's. Can't be the price and they wear well. There is a model with a knit cuff and one with a wider cuff.

I like the ones with the knit cuff. I wear them for everything, skiing, riding sled, cutting wood, pretty much anything outdoors except for hunting. Hunting I wear a pop top mitten, gotta have that trigger finger ready.

When I was a race coach, we all switched to Kinco when Ruesch went over $50. Patrol mostly used hardware store gloves with Thinsulate insulation. I’m using hardware store gloves now, with leather hardware store mittens for cold days.
No gloves will keep your hands warm if your head is cold. I‘ve had a serious frostbite injury, so i dress to keep my feet warm. Cold hands is just a message to warm up for me.

I wear convertible mittens 99% of time. They are warm and you can mess with gear without taking off gloves. I’m always on the lookout for leather Work gloves in summer and convertible mittens for winter. This year have found it hard to find either, assume Covid and China trade for shortages.
