Random NYSkiBlog Stuff That You Might Not Care About

Regarding the advertising issue above ^^ I've moved to a more modern ad serving system (still within the google system) that will allow a greater variety of ads. Theoretically that should help drive a bit more revenue. I am still staying away from the biggest most interuptive ads (see TGR) because IMO it's just too much.

But really ad revenue has dropped every year for the last 5 years because of the increasing use of ad blockers.

There is a way that you can make it so that you can't actually see and read our content if you are using an ad blocker. It seems pretty heavy handed.

I would sincerely appreciate forum members disabling any ad blockers while here. It's called 'whitelisting', you can do it for just one site if you want.

In other news, it's great to see the jump in action that comes with cold temps and snowfall!
Late reply but the only ads that really 'scare' me are the TEMU ads. Possibly a total paranoid myth but I have always considered them the pandora's box I never wanted to open for fear of getting deluged with ads and spam forever!

FYI I have no control of what ads google shows.

This chokes me up.

In 2011 I wrote a piece about my plow guy, Roger, who has since passed:

I got an email from his daughter last November, she found the short piece online and wrote to thank me.

Today I got this:

Hi! I just wanted to share with you, how your amazing words and thoughtful time to create this heartfelt article was truly appreciated.

They printed it and framed and put it up in their house. 🥹

Thats something special right there Harv. This is why we write!

I think it would be so cool, if we could recruit a writer in both Vermont and Quebec.

From VT I want Jay, Smuggs, Sugarbush, Mad, MSB, Killington/Pico, Bromley and Magic on the front page. One article from each, each winter. Plus anything smaller. Saskadena.

Quebec? Two articles a season to start. This will take some doing, some kind of connection up there.

The VT thing, between all of us, I bet we could do it. We'll see how much VT I can ski in 25/26.

Who else skis VT, and wants to write?

New Hampshire and Massachusetts are at least as or more relevant than Quebec. Even New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
