A comment by @MikePom on our front page got me thinking.

I love seeing photos of camps. Not a three bedroom 2 bath house in the mountains, but a camp. Something, by my definition, that is simple and for MOST people isn't likely to be enough to live long term. Hunting camp, skiing camp whatever you got.

If you feel like it, tell us a little something about it, maybe where it is (generally), how many square feet why you love it or what you think about it.

Ours, above, is old news, most of you have probably seen that shot, but I included it for stoke and to encourage you to post yours. It's 250 square feet, if you include the loft. When we built it, the only "utility" was an out house and a woodstove. Now it has two 15 amp electric circuits which we use for light, and we can get away with a space heater if it's not too cold. Full disclosure, we have another temporary building which we added when my daughter was born with full utilities, it is where I hope to put our house.

What do you got?

Not quite sure if a lake cottage qualifies, but it meets the other criteria. Our Keuka Lake cottage-built in 1936, purchased by my parents in 1955. Next door to the cottage my father came to as a boy in the 1920's (currently owned by my brother). About 650 square feet, one big room with bed nooks, woodstove for heat, lots of windows so no ac needed. Water comes from the lake which has to be shut down and drained in the fall, plus a hand pump for drinking water. Glorified shack, but we love it-it's what a cottage should be.

Deer camp. I love this place, no place I'd rather be. It's an Indian Long House with an addition. Funny story how it got there. One of OG owned the land the thing sat on. The owner of the trailer skipped town without paying his lot rent, so they latched onto the thing with a tractor and placed it where it sits now. Nobody knows if the guy ever came back. Can you imagine coming back to find your house gone?? Lol .... That all happened in the late 70's.
Anyway, I'm home now hunting here in the valley.

My grandfather's last hunting camp was on Goodnow Flow. You could only get there by boat. He took us there once when we were kids; no photos. Woodstove, utilitarian.

Hunting camp or dog house-think we spend more time drinking and playing poker then anything. No running water or electricity but do have outhouse. Been a staple for about 6 of us for years come October.
Reminds of my dads hunting camp except yours is much nicer. Basically not a lot of hunting but they always played cards and drank. It’s located in Gilboa. I drive by it on way to Plattekill. Always brings back good memories on my way to one of my favs.
