ORDA Board Meetings

Now we’ll have four carpets and two learning areas, that makes sense.
They said twas portable.
Can ya take it so ya don’t have to skate across the top?
Gonna be in a bubble to boot.
Hope to make it to Belle next season. Gotta SKI3 now & never been yet.

That’s quite a snapshot.

What do you think this means “residual expenses from hosting the Lake Placid FISU World University Games (WUG) in January 2023 continued to show up. ” ?

Seems like a weird sentence to me. Does it mean bills are still showing up in the mail and they’re like “oh yeah, we forgot we spent that money. Add it to the ledger”?

Last year's ORDA’s financial year ended March 31st 2024 and began on April Fool’s Day April 2023, so there’s that.

They're operating at a loss of $47.3 million. Then they say this....

ORDA board members, who approved the report on Wednesday, cast the results in a favorable light. It’s “amazing how well we are doing,” said member Betty Little.

The worker bees should be paid a living wage but the costs to keep the upkeep going on all the shiny new venues ain’t gonna go down. (If they can find enough worker bees to do the actual work.)

I think it's code for the have no idea what's actually going on. I mean, how many 100's of millions were spent to lose dang near 50 million?

Wouldn't it be nice to have that sort of luxury?

The thing that caught my attention was the rep saying the report was different from a P&L statement because it includes “paper” expenses like depreciation. I’m not an accountant but a P&L (income) statement does include depreciation. It is a very real expense as things do wear out ( can you say gondola) A cash flow statement on the other hand excludes non cash items like depreciation. Not sure if the rep made an honest mistake or purposefully blowing smoke to make things look better.

"A million here, a million there... pretty soon, you're talking about real money."
