Old Forum Migration and Greatest Hits

I feel obligated to preserve the Indy Tour. The earliest one might be problematic since I originally planned on putting it all in one thread. There’s more then one mountain/day in that one mixed in with the comments

May be the only Campgaw report

Not that my TRs are all that hall of fame worthy, but I did put a lot of pics in a couple of them and one is a fairly unique location that isn't covered on this forum and likely won't be anytime soon (Ski Land, AK).

The Chamonix one may be worth saving, as there aren't as many Euro TRs as the US ones.

This one from Colorado covered a bunch of different places and had alot of pics

Also, I did one from Alyeska, AK and Crystal Mt, WA

I just got through 30 of my own. I'll pick and choose through some of the above after all mine are done.

I'll look for great shots and good story telling.

Here is a guide on how to move TRs from the old Nabble forum to the new TR forum.

Harv, is there at least some way to keep the old forum content archived as it is now, in it's own thread? The archive thread currently links back to Nabble's server?

Nabble is saying they are going to shut everything down in "a few weeks." When the servers go down, everything on those links will disappear.

Most forum software is written in php and it isn't to hard to "migrate content from one forum software to another. But Nabble is written in a proprietary language. There is currently no way (that we could figure out) to migrate.

We are working on two different projects that may or may not work:

• Moving the the nabble forum to our own host: this would mean that those archive links could stay there "forever" (or as long as I pay the hosting bill).

• Writing custom migration software: this is really a long shot. For the developer working on it, it's a lot of work for a small payoff. That is if it is even possible.
