New Gear for this Season

Went to The Ski Company’s new store in The Cuse this morning and talked to Jimmy who sold me my last pair (Volkl RTM 84s).
He’s been Colgate’s ski team coach for years. Good guy too.
Told him I ❤️ skiing those but looking for something fun & not needing as much energy to get em on edge.
He suggested skis for me in a good, better, best recommendation to be:
Kastle MX 73mm 161cm.
Rossignol Forza 70mm 173cm
Stockli AS 76mm 166cm
Their sale runs till Halloween.
Ended up getting a nice new ski jacket.

Then stopped in at Tuscarora to use the last of my pro shop credit & got new golf shoes and a TUSCY sweatshirt.
Already picked up a week ago a nice lightweight zippered hoody to also be used skiing.

Hope to go back to Ski Co for a treat before Halloween. Leaning toward the sweet Stockli’s.

Funny, I just put my Volkl RTM 84 up on ebay... Too much ski for me
looking at nordica navigators 85 172cm...used

Mine ain’t for sale yet.
Just looking for something easier on this old fart’s knees.
The young lady at the checkout said I looked like a snowboarder.
I took it as a compliment, as she’s a dang boarder. 🏂

New gear this year for the kid...picked up a "like new" set of K2 Indy skis for him upstate off someone from FB marketplace for $20 which maybe got used 10 times if that from the looks of them, and a new pair of Roces IDEA boots that are 6 in 1 sizes, I saw alot of ppl selling these when shopping for used gear so I figured they were popular these days for toddlers...anyone have any experience with these boots? Did they hold up well? I like the idea of multi-size. I just bought them after striking out with finding a good used set of boots, and figured I'd give them a whirl and if they end up good pass down to my daughter when the time comes.

From what I've read about Roces boots, they are okay for getting little ones started. My impression is that they grow out of them quickly enough that it would be rare for one kid to wear them out. Have heard of families who passed them down to 1-2 younger kids in the family or to relatives.

I am a Roces EXPERT !!
They make a total of 3 different size boots .....each boot adjust 4 sizes.
I have been able to use those different boots from age 4 to right now ---age 11.
I think my oldest can use the largest boot (this year) at almost the highest setting.
I can usually stretch 2-3 seasons out of one adjustable boot.
I bought all the Roces used ---my kids ski 30-40 days a season.
We ski Whiteface - the oldest can ski the Slides - the other 2 can ski Skyward.
The kids can rip and the boots, more than hold up.
All 3 will be using the largest size Roces this year.
Next season - at this point - I think we are leasing.

ADKMike - i have some boots the kids out grew - happy to give you what you need
DM if you are interested.

This is what I have .........
Roces Adjustable Ski Boots - 1 Pair - size 16.0-18.5
Roces Adjustable Ski Boots - 2 Pair - size 19.0 - 22.0

+1 on the Kore series. My brother has the Kore 93, he really likes them and it is his only ski for all conditions at Jay. Elan Ripsticks get great reviews as well, I likely would have bought a pair of those in I didn't find the deal on the Mindbender C, which might be another ski to consider.
I love the Ripstick. I ride the 88s here in the east and bring the 96 when I'm heading west. I like a light playful ski. I used to love the Bushwhackers before those were discontinued.
