New Gear for this Season

I have those S/Lab MTN boots. There are major fit issues with them. They are very tight in the toes. The lower buckle goes over the top of your foot so it cuts down on blood circulation making your feet cold and numb. The buckle should have been moved back to keep your foot in the heel pocket. It is also has a lot of volume around the ankles, too much. They need to be heavily modified to fit correctly. I think this is why you see them on sale now. These issues were fixed in the heavier Shift boot and the lighter Summit with the BOA. The all can tour as long as they are matched with the compatible bindings. I now have all three. I ski the S/Lab Summit the most. They are like wearing sneakers. Super light for touring but I can still charge hard inbounds.
This might be a dumb question but did you have them heat molded, and if so with toe caps for a little extra stretch?

people i need some help...
I currently ski on Volkl RTM84 177cm...I hate them, to darn heavy and long..
I'm 5'9 160 lbs, i need a shorter mellower ski .. Something for the usual eastern conditions....

Fixed for me too.
They’re heavy but after ya get yer ski muscles going after they haven’t been used in awhile all ya just gotta do is stay on top them.

Thinking a touring setup would be fun.

I can't help you Jason...I still have 2.5 pair of Pre RTM AC 50s..Maybe I could use some help finding a new ski too. They may be heavy and stiff, but they get me out of trouble. I always know I have them under me.

No idea but I just scored a nice, lightly used 2022 Blizzard Bonafide 97 😀

Ebay and Gear trade is a good source once you decide on something.

Head Kore 87 in 170 or 177. Extremely light yet holds on ice.
Here is a 177 for $480 Canadian = $352 US. I have used Corbetts multiple times with zero issues. They also have good prices on bindings. The whole Kore line is interesting.

Fischer RC One GT is another great one. My son has these in a 182.
Here is a good write up on Powder 7
Here they are for a reasonable price:

I have had the MTNs heat molded twice with toe caps. Next time I go I will have them punched. Also had problems with the original liner. The fabric delaminated from the foam so they were replaced. They are fine for lapping the chair. I unbuckle when I’m not actively skiing. There’s no way I could tour more than a half day with them with my toes crushed and feet cold. Multi day tours would be out of the question. Making room in the toe box is easy. Taking up excess room around the ankles is harder. The Summit is lighter but has room in the toes and a snug fit especially around the ankles. The BOA system with a connected strap does a much better job keeping the heel in the pocket. It also allows for more micro adjustments and takes away the buckle fiddle factor.

+1 on the Kore series. My brother has the Kore 93, he really likes them and it is his only ski for all conditions at Jay. Elan Ripsticks get great reviews as well, I likely would have bought a pair of those in I didn't find the deal on the Mindbender C, which might be another ski to consider.
