Michigan Conditions

The snow at Caberfae started out hard packed and quickly turned to lots of sugar snow. Cold air is coming and will help greatly. But still fun to be out skiing.

Got a good feel for Boyne Mountain today. Skied 9:30-3:30 with a lunch break in spite of the single digit temps. There was no wind, which helped a lot.

Fully understand why Nub's is known for better snow. The short black trails on the Disciples 8 side were marked as "thin" because there was as much brown as white on the steepest sections.

The black terrain off the Super Bowl chair wasn't open yet. But the Meadows lift opened in the afternoon so got some powder turns over there. The Ski Diva from Chicago who is over 70 did pretty well in the chopped up powder. She didn't learn to ski until after age 50. Another adventurous former New Yorker.

Caberfae Peaks got South Peak open this weekend. While not a powder day, the snow was a very nice machine made with a little natural snow mixed in for a nice packed powder snow. They were very busy as seen by the number of crock pots being used
