About the only place in Michigan that won’t be open on 12/28/20 is Mt Bohemia. As of right now they have about a foot of snow. It’s takes close to 3 feet to open.

A very busy two weeks of skiing in Michigan. Most places would reach capacity a couple of days early. Bohemia is still waiting for enough natural snow to open

Pine Knob in Clarkston,Mi around 50 miles north of Detroit. It was cold, but no wind, a nice packed powder and a great way to spend a Thursday evening

Mount Bohemia finally is open

A buddy of mine who is a regular there has a sailboat in Detroit. He wants to sail it up there in the Summer and leave it to ice in in the harbor. Should be an interesting basecamp if he pulls it off. Most people think of Iceland and Norway for sailboat skiing. Bohemia would make a great dirtbag version of that. Definitely will be joining and taking pictures if he attempts it!
