Michigan Conditions

Brightons goal is Dec 3rd. As far as Boyne if the weather cooperates I could see this weekend
Actually, Brighton is opening Nov. 23. On their website and SkiUtah tonight. That means tomorrow. I hadn't checked for several days since SLC resorts were delaying from Nov. 19 the middle of last week.

EDIT: oops (see posts below)

Nub's Nob has figured out how they want to handle masking and use of indoor spaces. As I remember, Nubs used some sort of automatic counter at the doors to keep track of how many people were inside.

Since this is the Michigan conditions thread, I believe he is referring to the Brighton there. Not the one in Utah.

Mt. Brighton plans to open for winter December 3.

Yes Nubs had a counter at the door last season. The only place in Michigan that I know of that is going to require masks be worn inside is Mt Brighton.

Interesting, the Epic resorts in the midwest have opening dates on their VR-standard websites. Hadn't look at those before. Mostly because destination resorts in the U.S. like Park City and Hunter that delayed opening dates announced back in late August still don't have a tentative opening date posted.

Afton Alps opens Nov. 24. Last year Afton opened on Nov. 21.

Wilmot is shooting for Dec. 3. As noted above, Mt. Brighton is also planning to open on Dec. 3.

Boyne Mountain has Friday, Dec. 3 on their website as opening day. For Boyne Highlands, nothing on the homepage but tickets show in the e-store calendar for Dec. 4-5 with 7-day operations starting on Dec. 10.

Caberfae was a pleasant surprise today. After a warm up and some rain and a refreeze I was expecting boiler plate and instead I got firm with loose granular snow that softened up under blue skies and a high of 32 and no wind. A bonus was South Peak opened around noon for more terrain.

Spring skiing in December. Whatever works!

Sounds like Caberfae isn't planning on holding back on upgrade plans.

East Peak.jpg

By next fall the sandy part will be up to the level of the rest of the hill. This is where the East peak is going to start. This is also where the new lift that is talked about in the Podcast will unload at.
