Back in the day you used to be able to get a one-ride ticket on the diesel chair and skate past Watson's cabin to Smuggs. IIRC there were friendly Canadian girls there at a time when Stowe girls were too cool to talk to me.
Even talking about a gondola makes me sad.

Two of Vermont’s largest ski resorts could be connected by gondola under a plan uncovered by the Morrisville News and Citizen. Stowe Mountain Resort parent Vail Resorts and longtime Smugglers’ Notch owner Bill Stritlzer have reportedly been in talks for several years but sought to keep initial work on the project confidential.

Somebody got smart and FOILed it, but it doesn't necessarily mean the project is getting closer to happening.

Maybe they don't want it out there because it is a long shot.
